Russell Bayne Obituary

Russell James Bayne passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 10, 2024 in a Seattle Hospital after  a 6 year battle with cancer. He  was 63 years old.

Russ was born to Charles and Glenda (Meadows) Bayne on August 23, 1960.

After graduating from W.F. West High School in 1978 he went to Clover Park Technical College in Tacoma, WA for 2 years. 

Kresky Auto Repair in Centralia, WA is where Russ started his Automotive career.

He met Donna McLaughlin in October, 1985 through a mutual friend. They were married on October 18, 1986 in Jackson Prairie. They welcomed a son in September, 1987 and a daughter in May, 1989.

Russ accepted a position with the Department of Natural Resources as an Equipment Mechanic Supervisor and moved his family to Forks, WA in September, 1990. He made many friends and had lots of fond memories of him and his coworkers playing tricks on each other over his 29 year career with DNR.

He loved the outdoors, enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman, taking his beloved dogs Gus and Nikki with him to the river.

Forever a “Gear head”, Russ was always working on various car projects, his biggest being “ The Black Widow” Truck that he never got to finish.

Russ was a devout Christian who loved his Lord Jesus with all his heart. He was a member of the Forks Assembly of God Church where he formed many wonderful friendships. 

He is survived by Donna, his loving wife of 37 years, son and daughter, Bryan (Chelsey) Bayne, Centralia, Heather (Todd) Davies, Chandler, AZ, his brother, Rick ( Julie) Bayne, Chehalis, and sister, Robyn (Ted) Pilz, Napavine; brother’s in-law and sister in-law, Jason McLaughlin, Centralia, WA, Bret McLaughlin, Monroe, WA, and Erin McLaughlin, Chehalis, WA. 

Russ will be lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren, Connor, Emerson, and Lanie Bayne and Ryker, Everly, and Clara Davies, and by his numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his  father Charles, in November, 2021 and by his mother Glenda, in November, 2023. He is greatly missed.
