Paul Hornstein Obituary

On Saturday, March 27th, 2021, Paul Hornstein, loving husband of Cynthia Hornstein and father of Phil Hornstein, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 from complications from his cancer treatment. Paul was born September 25th, 1946 in Calumet City, Illinois to Bertram and Gladys Hornstein.

He was a Marine Corps veteran and had Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Southern Illinois University in 1972 and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1975. While working as a clinical psychologist in Illinois, he met the love of his life Cindy. They were married on September 6th, 1986 at Saint Cecilia church in Wisconsin Dells, WI. They lived most of their life together in New Lenox, IL, raising one son Phil. In more recent years they moved to Centralia, WA to be closer to their son and his wife Alejandra.

Paul had many passions, including history, photography, visiting national parks, and watching sports. But his greatest passion was his family, his love for them never being in doubt. He was known as a loyal and loving husband, an overwhelmingly supportive father, and a great friend. Paul was preceded in death by his father Bert and his mother Gladys. He is survived by his wife Cindy, his son Phil, his brother Lee, and his sister Lynn.

A funeral service open to all family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at St. Mary Church in Centralia, WA at 1 p.m. A burial service will follow in Wisconsin Dells, WI at a later date.
