Kathleen Kainz Obituary

Kathleen A Kainz Passed away March 1, 2024, at St. Peter’s hospital in Olympia Washington.  Kathleen was born May 25, 1956 in Taft California to Ervin and Minnie Johnson.  She attended various schools throughout the West Coast.  Kath was attending Tumwater High
School when she met the love of her life, Ron Kainz at a friend’s house.

Kathleen and Ron were inseparable.  They married in 1974 while Ron was in the Army.  They spent time in Germany, Virginia, Kansas, and Alaska before settling in Washington after Ron retired from the Army. During their time in the Army, Kathleen gave birth to two sons, Judd and Shane.  While her boys were growing up, Kathleen also worked as a childcare worker and a veterinarian assistant.  She had a lifelong love of animals.  Kathleen lived for her family.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Her family brought her great joy.  When not doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kathleen and Ron would enjoy time together at casinos and eating out.  She especially enjoyed her time at the beach.  Everyone that knew Kath will remember her as a kind and caring person.  She had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Kathleen will always be remembered for her love of family.  She struggled with several health issues prior to her death, but always found time to be with family.  Kathleen will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.  May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she lives on in the hearts and memories of all those she leaves behind.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Susan Bergmanis and Anna Johnson.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald C Kainz.  She is also survived by her sons Judd Kainz (Sheryl), and Shane Kainz (Laurie), 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her brother Jay (Patty) Johnson.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.  Remembrances may be sent to the American Cancer Society of Washington.
