Jeannette Kay Underwood passed away in the early morning on October 31st, 2023, in Centralia, Washington, after a weeklong battle in the ICU, with her children by her side. Jeannette was born on December 18th, 1961, in Seattle, Washington, to Elizabeth Hangartner and David Carr. She was one of three children.
Jeannette attended school in Centralia and Wenatchee, Washington. She met Charles in Centralia, Washington and they were married on November 6th, 1987, in Chehalis, Washington.
Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the “Light of her life.”, as she would say. In her younger years she enjoyed working as a caregiver, taking care of the elderly. She enjoyed plants and planting them in her yard with her husband. They were always together and loved each other more than anything.
Jeannette is survived by her children, Amanda (Christian) De Los Santos, Jami Underwood, Gregorio Underwood, and Ronnie Jennings; eight grandchildren, Maria, Dulce, Itzel, Ebeni, Araceli, Javi, Julio and Naomi; her mother, Elizabeth Hangartner; sister, Dena Hangartner; brother, Richard Cunningham; four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Anita and Rick Rowland, Brenda and Alex Lane, Diane and Ken Stoker, and Babby Underwood; along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Underwood; Mother and Father-in-law, Charles and Wanda Underwood; and her grandmother.
We will be holding a graveside service at Claquato Cemetery at 142 Stearns Rd, Chehalis, WA 98532, on November 12th, 2023, at noon. A celebration of life will directly follow at the Lewis and Clark event center at 117 W Magnolia St, Centralia, WA 98531
