James Donald Givens “Donnie” 72 years young of Rochester Washington passed away on December 1 , 2019 at Centralia Providence Hospital.
Donnie was born on August 20,1947 to his parents Allen Givens Sr and Edith Frady-Givens in Rockwood Rural, Tennessee. His parents moved their family to Rife, Wa when Donnie was just a young boy. He attended Morton School’s until he reached the 10th grade. As an adult Donnie was always eager to further his knowledge so he decided to take several classes at Centralia Community College. While still maintaining a steady work schedule to support his family. He spent 40 years as a crane operator with no lost time accidents working for the Centralia Mining company. Through all his years there he saw the company change hands several times while working along side one of his best friends Allen Olson “Ole”. He was a hard working prideful man that never let life get him down. Even through all his struggles with his battle against cancer he still worked hard to show his love to his wife and grandkids through his fight. Donnie had many hobbies in life but we all know that the hobby that fulfilled his life the most was loving his wife Dawn Givens. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren teaching them his strong work ethics and great cooking. I mean he did always cook for an army. He spent many years of his life enjoying the great outdoors hunting, fishing, and exploring Washington and Alaska.
