Howard Leslie Bodin

Howard Leslie Bodin, 76, passed away on Monday August 14,2023 in Rochester Wa. He was born on June 14, 1947 to Palmer and Ruth Bodin. He was the youngest of their five children.

Howard joined the Navy (Sea Bees) at age 17, serving in Vietnam. After his service in the military, he began an apprenticeship in carpentry, before going on to start his own construction company, building custom homes.

Howard would marry his first wife Kathleen Gary in 1968. They had two children together and created many wonderful memories before her passing in 1988. He would later go on to marry Katherine Kelsey of Yakima on August 9, 1997 together they enjoyed hunting, tending to a rather impressive garden and spending as much time as possible with their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Howard was a man who greatly enjoyed life, cherished his friends and family, and admired the beauty of nature.

He is preceded in death by Kathleen P Bodin (1st wife),Palmer and Ruth Bodin(Parents), Ernie Bodin, Bob Bodin and Rosie Johnson (siblings).

Howard’s memory will be carried on by his wife, Katherine Bodin , two children, John Bodin, and Christine Kolhage, six grandchildren (Elisa, Michael, Taylor, Helen, Alex, and Josh), nine great grandchildren (Lotus, Laura, Madeline, Bentley, Michael, John, Wesley, Amelia, and Meadow), sister Delores Motz and many other family members as well as friends.

A grave side service will be held on September 9th 2023 at 11am at the Grand Mound Cemetery. There will be a reception at the family’s home to follow.
