In loving memory and in celebration of someone very special who made this world a brighter and better place.
Gary was the only child of Edward and Nellie Newton. He was raised in Lakewood Washington and graduated from Clover Park High School.
He joined the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War until being badly injured. He received a purple heart for his service.
He was a great role model and provider for his family. He worked in construction until his retirement.
He was an amazing father and grandfather, so loving, patient, devoted and fun. We were all very blessed to have him in our lives.
Gary was an avid Sportsman. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. He cherished the memories and time he spent learning from his own father and passing down and sharing his knowledge with his children, family and friends.
He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, caring, funny and lighthearted personality. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife Sherrie, children Natalie, Julie, Tyler and Derrick, step children Nicholas, Pebbles, Juanita and Jennifer and 13 grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers and sweet memories they have shared.
Graveside services will be held on November 15th, 2023 at 11:00am, at Tahoma National Cemetery
