Francisco was born on December 17, 1940 to Cepea Rufeno and Adejuana Mugando (Quintana) Gonzalez in Havanna, Cuba. He left home at 15 yrs. old to join the Military. He was granted asylum in 1981 after leaving Castro’s regime and was life flighted into Florida. He ended up working in the  immigration office as an interpreter. After a couple years, we find Francisco married and living in Washington State. He ended up leaving that marriage after a while and ended up living in Tumwater working in Forestry. In 1993 he suffered an injury, due to a fall, that damaged his spine. Francisco had a work ethic like no other. He ended up working with farm animals up until the end of his life.

Francisco loved horses. His family, in Cuba, had a farm with pigs, sheep, cows, and horses. He rode the horses a lot but found little time to do so as an adult.
