Frances Fischler, oldest daughter of Fred and Ruth (Davis) Fischler was born January 20, 1929. She was raised in Independence Valley and graduated from Rochester High School in 1948. She worked for Alexander Lumber for twenty-three years and then for Simpson Timber's Cutting Department in McCleary. She retired from Simpson in 1989.
Upon retirement she moved to Port Angeles. There her time was spent visiting the pawnshop, gardening, and restoring her 8N tractor and Cadillac convertible. She also enjoyed target practicing at the Pe Ell Sportsman Club, reading and photography. Ninety-three years is a long life and Frances lived it to the fullest. She did not have a problem with stating her opinion and did not care if anyone was offended. She will be missed.
Graveside services will be 11 am Thursday, June 9th at Grand Mound Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Newell-Hoerling's Mortuary.
