Eldon Orville Iverson, 96, of Centralia, passed away on July 12, 2021, at his home in Centralia, WA surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was born on December 3, 1924, to Lavern and Mildred (Backman) Iverson at Newell, SD. He attended school in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Rochester, WA. As well, he attended Prairie Bible Institute and various other higher education facilities. Eldon worked as a Pastor of various missions in addition to Forks Baptist, Hillcrest Baptist, Mountain View Baptist (MT), Good Samaritan, and supplied as intern pastor during his entire ministry including post “retirement”. He was also a highly sought-after Timber Faller for various employers including but not limited to Weyerhauser, Ernie Cashman, and as a self-contractor. On September 9th, 1956, he married Gay Lynn Bolender. Eldon and Gay Lynn lived in Centralia, WA.
He was a member of the Master Gardeners, the Southern Baptist Convention, NRA, avid reader, avid outdoorsman (recreational farmer, gardening, hunting, and fishing which including a stint as a commercial fisherman while pastoring Forks Baptist and falling trees full time).
Eldon is survived by his loving spouse of (64 years) Gay Lynn; daughters, Joanie Marie (Richard) Craig of Stanwood, WA, Tereasa Gay (Ivan) Carlson of Mount Vernon, WA, Patricia Ann (Michael) Duncan of Ocean Shores, WA, Christy (Ryan) Brannon of Centralia, WA; sons, Eldon Dean (Tani) Iverson of Arlington, WA, Philip (Robin) Iverson of Onalaska, WA, Peter Eric (Stephanie) Iverson of Peoria, AZ, Joseph (Tomara) Miller of Killeen, TX; sisters, Marjorie (Stanley) Baldwin, Martha Linnea (Terry) McCarthy; brother, Jimmy Lee (Juliene) Iverson; 35 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Alder Street Baptist Church, 1010 Alder Street, Centralia, WA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, 11:00 am at the Alder Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Rudy Nix, officiating. Potluck reception following burial service.
Private burial will take place in the Grand Mound Cemetery.
