Charles Rector, 88, passed away peacefully at Providence Centralia Hospital July 21, 2023. He was born May 30, 1935, in Centralia, Washington, to Ruby and Walter Rector.
Charles attended school in Rochester, Washington and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in San Francisco, California. He then served our country in the US Air Force Strategic Air Command.
He pursued his dream of designing and manufacturing medical products as an international businessman. He worked for over six decades in his chosen profession.
On September 21, 1963, he married Jeanne Nelson at St. Alphonsus church in Seattle, Washington and together they raised three children: daughter Kimberly and sons John and James Rector.
He was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus, where he served the Lord. He was a member of the Rotary Club International, where he served as an officer and a Paul Harris fellow. Charles was a proud member of the American Legion.
Charles and Jeanne loved traveling to Mexico with their family. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, raising cattle, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanne Rector; daughter Kimberly, sons John (Annette) and James Rector; and grandsons Jacob, Isaac and Andrew.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Walter Rector.
Visitation and Memorial Services will be held at Newell-Hoerling’s Mortuary Saturday, August 19th, 2023, at 11:00am. Graveside services will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Even in the end, he was a spirited and devoted father, husband, and grandfather.
