Amelia (Amy) Grace Rattray was born to Ethel and
Leo Voigt April 12, 1925 in Bon Homme, South Dakota.
She passed away peacefully on August 4, 2019 at
SharonCare assisted living.
Her family owned a farm in Tyndall South Dakota where she enjoyed being a farm girl with her
two brothers. After graduating from high school she got her teaching certificate and taught in a
one room school house. She moved to Seattle in 1945 and worked various jobs.
Her final workplace was Dairigold after 15yrs at the cheese processing plant in Seattle, the plant
moved to Chehalis, Wa and she had to make the difficult decision to leave her family and move
to Chehalis where she worked for another 10yrs before retiring.
In 1981 she married William Rattray and they had many happy years together before he passed
away November 2013. Amy loved faith, family, friends, golfing, bowling and baking lots of
cookies to give away.
She is survived by her daughter Leila Miller and son-in-law Albert Miller as well as her 3
grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who will miss her very much. But we know we will see
her again in heaven. It’s not good-by it’s see you later.
Many thanks to Sharon Care and all the aids that made her days brighter. Also to Hospice Care
for all the comfort they gave her.
In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to Love Inc of Lewis County.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Harrison Square Church August 16, 2019 at 2:00.
