Vondra passed away peacefully Jan. 15, 2026, at Providence Centralia Hospital. She lived a full life and was blessed to be loved by many. Vondra made a lasting impact on everyone she met and will be deeply missed.

Vondra was born Feb. 11, 1945, to Vernon and Barbra Bush. She graduated from Adna High School. In 1963, she married Gary Bennett on May 23, 1964, and together they raised two sons, Dennis and Kevin. After Gary's passing in 2002, Vondra later met Donald Hershman, and they were married Aug. 17, 2007. Vondra retired from CED in 2009. Following retirement, she enjoyed spending more time with her family. In addition to her love for family, Vondra enjoyed all things Elvis, trips to the casino, crafts and painting, and fishing. Vondra put her all into everything and everyone she loved.

Vondra is survived by her husband, Donald Hershman; mother, Barbra Bush; brother, Forrest Bush; sisters, Karen Halverson and Vernine Bush; sister-in-law, Waverly Bennett Williams Rayton; sons, Dennis (Angie) Bennett and Kevin (Stancin Kahler) Bennett; and stepson, Bob (Carla) Little. She is also survived by her grandchildren in Washington: Blake (Emily) Bennett, Natalie (Brayden) Mauermann, Seth (Morgan Humphrey) Bennett, Courtney (Bryce Laufenberg) Bennett, and Karlie Bennett; Kellsie Kahler-Simpson; grandsons TJ and Steven Marker; and grandchildren in Arizona: Kyle, Brandon, Ryan, and Katherine Little. She is further survived by numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Vondra was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Bush; sister, Ginny Bush; sister-in-law, Sherrie Bush; and her first husband, Gary Bennett.

At Vondra's request, there will not be a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Vondra's honor to the Lewis County Veterans Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis, Washington 98532.
