Virgil LeRoy Potter born July 30, 1939 passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026 in Centralia WA surrounded by loved ones.
Virgil was born in Chambers, Nebraska and is predeceased by his parents Jessamine Belle Potter (Lumen) and Clifford Potter. Virgil was one of seven children, Ruth, Ralph, Vesta, Lyle, Carolyn and Arlene.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandy L. Potter (Helvey) and his children: Cindy, Rebecca, Shane (Angela), Cary (Teri) and Koby (Nicolle), Grand Children: Amber, Joshua, Eric, Camelia, Rachel, Shaenu, Koby II, Timothy & Brady. Great Grand children: Angel, Cyrus, Bryson and Raelynn.
Virgil attended Ewing High School in Nebraska and was a great sporting enthusiast competing in Track and Field, Basketball and Football at high school level.
Virgil was proud to serve his country and joined the U.S. Army in 1958 and originally assigned to the 226 Medical Corps in Fort Carson, Colorado. During his military career, he served in Germany and onboard the USS Grant out of New York as a medical corp man. Virgil was also part of the Special Services Army Football Team that competed in Germany.
