Susan Marie Kjesbu Scott, October 14, 1919 to January 20, 2015, was born in Harmony, Washington. She attended Mossy Rock High School, Multnomah Bible College and Centralia Community College. She worked as a housewife and as a teacher's aide for the Centralia School District from 1965-1980. She also worked for Security State Bank and Centralia General Hospital.
Susan married Ezell Scott on June 24, 1942 at the home of her parents Oliver E. and Nellie I. Kjesbu on Ford's Prairie.
She was active in Mt. View Baptist Church in Centralia as a Sunday school teacher, deaconess, choir, and senior services helper. Susan made cakes for weddings and got flowers for the church. Susan also cooked at a number of Bible camps at the Dunes Camp on Long Beach, Washington.
Mom loved having family reunions at home; she felt this was a special privilege. She also taught a once a month Bible study about the reality and joy of Heaven. It left her heart "happy at the prospect of being there one day." The place on Earth she enjoyed the most was her beautiful homestead in the hills of Harmony, Washington.
Her favorite verse was Romans 8:26-29 v:28..."And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good..."
Susan asked to be remembered for her love for Jesus and her love for her children; Allan Scott, Dan Scott, MaryLee Murray, and Ann Leal. The hymn "All The Way My Savior Leads Me" does, of course, lead to: home at last.
