Obituary

Stephen Douglas Berman, of Chehalis Washington passed away April 14, 2026 from anaplastic thyroid cancer.

Steve was born March 6, 1947 in Los Angeles California and grew up in Lakewood California. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1965.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. His first love was Ham Radio, licensed at 14.

He owned and operated

Precision Collins Services for many years and was well know and respected in the ham radio community. He also enjoyed music, reading, visiting with friends, travel, feeding the backyard birds and was an enthusiastic walker and hiker.

Steve is survived by his second but greatest love, Joanna (Bisbee)

Berman, who he married September 23, 2000. He is also survived by his sister in law and husband, Teri and Chuck Lawrence of Arkansas, nephew, Ryan Lawrence of Colorado, bonus daughter, Lesley Jackson of Washington, and his best friend, Rick Dawson of Washington.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, Irving and Adelaide Berman and his brother, Edward Berman.

Services will be held Tuesday. April 21 at 1:30 pm at the Tahoma Nation Cemetery in Kent Washington.
