Obituary

Sandy Potter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 2, 2026. She was 82 years old.

Born on May 24, 1944, in Eugene, Oregon, to Ansel and Sybil Helvey, Sandy grew up with a deep sense of faith, service, and family. After graduating high school, she proudly served her country by joining the United States Air Force, a chapter of her life she carried with great pride.

Sandy was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Virgil Potter, with whom she built a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and love. Together they raised four children: Cindy, Shane (Angela), Cary (Teri), and Koby (Nicholle). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Known for her infectious smile and contagious laugh, Sandy had a gift for brightening any room she entered. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she remained active in the Christian church throughout her years. She loved playing cards, traveling, and camping with family and friends-always eager for the next adventure or gathering.

At home, Sandy found peace and happiness caring for the flowers around her house, tending to them with the same love she gave to the people in her life.

Sandy's legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. She -will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
