Sandra S. Merriman was the daughter of Bill and Mabel Merriman of Centralia, Wash. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on Nov. 19, 1938 and was raised in Baltimore, Md., before moving to Centralia in l952. Sandra was a l956 graduate of Centralia High School, and then employed by the FBI in Seattle for 2 years. She attended the Police Academy in Los Angeles and was employed as a sheriff for the Los Angeles County for 3 years. Sandy then worked 12 years for Bail Recovery and Missing Children Investigations in Los Angeles.
After retiring from police work, she moved to Redondo Beach, Calif., where she owned and operated "A Canine Good Life," a retail sales & pet grooming service for 22 years.
In 1998, she relocated back to Centralia to help her mother.
Sandra enjoyed traveling, reading, and working with animals, especially her own pets.
She is survived by her brother, Mike Merriman of Auburn (wife Penny), brother, William E. (Bill) Merriman of Bellevue (wife Colleen), three nieces, Shelley Engelstone Thomas, of Redmond (husband Garth), Kelsey Eberth of Wenatchee (husband Kyle), Molly Merriman (Bellevue) and one nephew, Scott Merriman (wife Tiffany) of Seattle. She also is survived by four great-nieces and three great-nephews in Washington.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Newell-Hoerling's Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. in Centralia with graveside services following at the Sticklin-Greenwood Cemetery.
