Samuel Laverne Bickel, age 85, passed away at his home in Chehalis on November 7, 2018. He was born on August 7, 1933 to George and Alice (Babb) Bickel in Centralia Washington. Samuel worked as a Engineer for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years. On February 1, 1957 he married Carolyn Hensley in Centralia and were married for 61 years. Samuel is survived by his loving spouse; Carolyn, four sons; Steven Dale Bickel, Daniel Laverne Bickel, Samuel Anton Bickel, and Miles Paige Bickel, daughter; Marcia Yvonne Waters, six grandsons; Steven Dale Potvin, Theodore Joseph Knuth, Ethan Bickel, Elijah Frances Bickel, Donald Eugene Bickel, and David Michael Bickel, seven granddaughters; Desiree Diane Chamberlain, Annie Lucille Bradley, Laurie Elizabeth Hansen, Micaela Marie Bickel, Kristen Janel Bickel, Samantha Lynn Bickel, and Sadi Luree Waters, seven great-granddaughters; Madelyn Potvin, Emily McMillan, Natalie Chamberlain, Natalie Wojinski, Kadence Knuth, Keylyn Knuth, and Everly Knuth, nine great-grandsons; Jake Potvin, Jesse James Potvin, Matthew McMillan, Grady Wojinski, Jadon Hansen, Logan Hansen, Finn Hansen, Cohen Hansen, and Blake Knuth; .
