Ruby Graves age 92, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2014 at Liberty Country Place. Ruby was born August 22, 1921 in Chehalis, WA. and was a lifetime resident of Lewis Co. She was preceded in death by parents James Blaine Presnell and Jessie Wymore; brothers Emerick Phillips and sister Eunice Raschke; husband Chuck Graves; son James Frogner who died at birth and nephew John Leonard.
She is survived by daughter Luana Graves; nieces Janice Duncan and Lorita Munsell as well as great nieces and nephews. Ruby graduated from Adna High School in 1940. After graduation she worked during WWII as a clerk typist at the Puget Sound Naval Ship Yard in Bremerton, WA. She was devoted to family and loved children as well as being full of life, love, and fun. Ruby always had a smile for everyone and a personality everyone liked. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, family including siblings, nieces and nephews would celebrate Christmas Eve with a buffet and gift exchange. At Christmas the yard would have a nativity scene, a church Chuck built, and inflatable Santa, Reindeer and Snowman. Ruby loved decorating the house for all holidays, her favorite family vacation was Yellowstone Park as she really enjoyed the Bears.
After her husband passed away she enjoyed traveling with her daughter on Discovery Tours. Her favorite trips were Branson, MO; Mariners Games as well as Casinos. Ruby was a huge Mariners Fan, a wonderful cook and in earlier years did canning. She enjoyed bowling and was a long time secretary of Blue Monday & Wednesday Niters Leagues. She received a plaque for 15 years service as secretary for Wednesday Niters League. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and AARP. Funeral Services to celebrate Ruby's life will be held 11am Wednesday March 12, 2014 Newell-Hoerling's Mortuary 205 W. Pine St. Centralia, WA. Graveside services will follow at Claquato Cemetery Chehalis, WA. Please be sure to sign the online guest book.
