Obituary

Peggy was born in Toppenish, Wash., on Aug. 29, 1917, to Daniel and Annie (Reil) Houle. There were 10 children in her family, she was the last to pass away. She married Purd D. Totten on Feb. 11, 1935, in Yakima, Wash. She was a young mother and later became floor manager of a fruit cannery in Yakima. Purd and Peggy moved to Hoquiam, Wash., in early 1950, where he found a job at Blagens Mill, in Hoquiam, Wash. Later on, Peggy started working at a dress shop as a floor clerk, she worked there for many years, then went to work at Grays Harbor Veneer in Woodlawn, Wash., where she was a machine operator. Peggy retired in 1963, she remained in their home, raising the last of their kids. Her husband passed away in 1999, also, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren passed before her. She is survived by five children, Beverly Simpson and husband, Chet, Shirley Miller and husband Robert, Nancy Brewer and friend, Fred, Daniel Totten and wife, Sheila and Pamela Docsanes and husband, Nick, she has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren and more great-great-great-great-grandchildren. She is a person who would help anyone when she could. We will all miss her very much. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at the Centralia Eagles from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the food bank or your favorite charity.
