Patrick Dale Bailey passed away on January 10, 2015 at Liberty Country Place after a long illness. Pat was born March 11, 1953 in the St. Helen's Hospital to Dale T. and Peggy R. Bailey and attended schools in Centralia WA and graduated from Centralia High School in 1971. He married Beverly Ball in 1972 while home on leave from the US Army, then was stationed in Germany where his only child, daughter Rachel, was born in 1974. He was a proud Veteran and had the utmost respect for fellow Veterans. He has a tile on the Memory Wall at the Chehalis Veterans Museum beside his father and his brother. Pat had a bit of a green thumb and used to work alongside his Dad in their garden. He also loved the wildlife that he encountered in his neighborhood. Deer, squirrels and birds would appear from time to time. Pat always fed them if he could. He played on the local softball team his parents sponsored called "Action Messenger's" along with his two brothers. There was a batting cage his parents built in their back yard with a pitching machine that everyone knew as "The Batter's Box" and it got quite a workout. He was a carpenter most of his life and became a barber after work injuries dictated that he could not do construction work anymore. His illness forced him into an early retirement. He spent 10 years living on the Big Island of Hawaii returning when his grandson Jakob was born in 1994. While living in Hawaii he enjoyed snorkeling and boogie boarding and loved the warmth of the sun. One time he even introduced himself to Jerry Garcia when he saw him on the street. He was very proud to be a Grandpa to Jakob, who is a US Marine, and his granddaughter Joslynn who was born in 1999. Pat married Debi Sanders in 2000 and they spent 14 happy years as husband and wife. They had many good times together attending concerts (he especially enjoyed the Eagles), going to dinner and live music at Jazz Alley and riding their Harleys together until his illness forced him to stop. He still wore his leather vest and a hankie on his neck every day until his death. He very much enjoyed their 2 trips to Alaska, one of which he was able to sit up front with the pilot on the small plane taken from Skagway to Juneau. He also loved the Zipline they went on in Juneau while on an Alaskan cruise. He had two dogs he loved so very much and that gave him great comfort, a black Lab named Billy and a Puggle named Chewy. A big Seahawks fan, Pat was looking forward to watching the play-off game on the day he passed. We will all think about him when the Hawks win the Superbowl again! Pat was preceded in death by his father Dale T. Bailey, sisters Carolyn Bailey and Mary Smyth, sister-in law Kathy Bailey and his beloved lab Billy. He is survived by daughter Rachel (Fabian) Barrera, mother Peggy Bailey (a wonderful woman who he was very close with), brothers David Bailey of Centralia WA and Ron (Shelley) Bailey of Captain Cook HI, grandson Lance Corporal Jakob Bailey, granddaughter Joslynn, ex-wife and friend Debi Bailey, step-children Monica, Jessica and Kris Wilcox, step-grandson Tannen, honorary daughter Abigail Baxter-Jaime and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends. There will be no services at Pat's request but a private memorial will be held for friends and family on July 11th at Pigeon Springs.
