Obituary

Patricia Ellen Hugill was born August 17, 1940 in Kodiak, Alaska and passed away peacefully in her sleep February 8, 2025 in Chehalis, WA. She grew up in Centralia in her family home on H street. She had fond memories of her childhood friends and neighbors. Her grandparents, Sidney and Ellen Plummer, established and ran Twin City Sand & Gravel in Centralia and the excavation became Plummer Lake. Her parents, Arthur & Marjorie Plummer, took over the family gravel business and operated it until the early 1950s when I-5 came through the area. They then built and ran Lake Shore Motel. The motel is still in operation, under new ownership, now known as Lakeview Inn. Patricia graduated from Centralia High School in 1958. She attended Centralia Junior College and the University of Washington in Seattle, graduating in 1962. While living in Seattle she met her first husband, Bill Page. They moved to Camden, Maine where she raised three children and enjoyed many sailing adventures. Patricia loved being a mom and homemaker and will be remembered for her devotion to her children and grandchildren. In 1995 she returned to her home state of Washington and settled in Chehalis. She married Ken Hugill, a former high school acquaintance, in 1997. They were both members of the Episcopal church and enjoyed golf, gardening, camping and volunteering together. Patricia was very fond of train travel and visiting historical sites. She enjoyed learning and recording the families' genealogy. Patricia's favorite hobby was sewing and textile arts. She was known for creating beautiful quilts, clothing and more with exceptional quality. She carried a special place in her heart for all the members of Friendly Neighbors Garden Club. She was also a member of the Lacey D.A.R. holding various offices. Patricia is survived by her devoted husband Ken Hugill, sons Tom Page and George Page, daughter Samantha (Michael) Gorman, five grandchildren and brother Grant (Karen) Plummer.
