Nora Anne Barada, of Centralia, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday March 9, 2015. She was loved very much by her family members on the East coast, and her family here in Washington and will be greatly missed by all.
Nora was born in Fargo, N.D. to Elwin and Bessie McCracken on October 17, 1920. She had a joyful childhood with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She loved reminiscing about their happy days together as children.
Nora and her husband, Richard Barada, moved their family to Centralia in 1962 where he was the chaplain of the Centralia General Hospital. Nora's love for children and teaching ignited their desire to start the Centralia Bible Chapel in their home. From then on she devoted her life to teaching children and women about God's love for them. Her love for the Lord and for people, had a great impact on many lives.
In addition, Nora was an incredible cook, bread maker, cookie baker, and cake decorator. She also taught us to knit, sew, crochet, and all kinds of artist crafts. She loved animals, she raised and showed rabbits, had birds, ducks, geese, goats, cats and dogs. She grew beautiful roses, flowers, and vegetables too.
Nora was an amazing Mom to her 5 children: Susan (Doug) Mathews of Greenville, S.C.; Becky (Mike) Curtright of Centralia; Erick (Tami) Barada, of Rochester; Corky (Cheryl) Barada of Doty; and John (Lena) Barada of Kennewick. Nora also has 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Everyone cherishes their memories and will miss her beyond words.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Nora's life on Saturday March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centralia Bible Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Centralia Bible Chapel in memory of Nora. Please share your memories of Nora, by signing her online guest book.
