Nicholas "Nick" Dalton, a native of Beaufort, South Carolina, passed away on December 20, 2024, in Centralia, Washington. He was the beloved son of Bill and Kristin Dalton of Beaufort and Montagnola, Switzerland. He is also survived by his brother, Jacob Dalton of Hadley, Massachusetts, and his sister, Abigail Dalton of Jacksonville, Florida.
Nick spent his early years in Beaufort, primarily attending Beaufort Academy until the eighth grade. He then attended Cherokee Creek, a therapeutic boarding school in Westminster, South Carolina. He later graduated from Innercept Academy and Lake City High School in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 2016. After his graduation, Nick lived and worked in Colorado, Wyoming, Georgia, and Florida before moving to Centralia in January 2023.
Nicholas loved dogs and cars, he loved children and cheeseburgers, he loved pirates and playmobiles, and he loved to both play and watch soccer. He was a devoted and passionate Liverpool fan from the time he was 10 years old, and his pantheon of favorite players included Glenn Johnson, Joe Gomez, Philppe Coutinho, and, above all, Fernado Torres. From 2005-2013, Nick spent most of the summer at Kingswood Camp for Boys in Piermont, New Hampshire. It was there that he spent many of his happiest hours, swimming and snorkeling in Lake Tarleton and hiking many of the famous peaks of the White Mountains including Mt. Washington.
The family will host a celebration of Nick's life in Beaufort on April 12, 2025. Further details will be shared on Facebook closer to the date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), or organizations supporting individuals struggling with addiction such as Narcotics Anonymous.
May Nick's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and cherished his presence.
