Obituary

With deep sorrow, yet also with great gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce that Judith Marie Hroncich, fondly known as Judy, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2025. A beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Judy was a dedicated, loving, loyal, and compassionate soul who touched many lives with her warmth, generosity, and love. Born on February 22, 1943, in Muncie, Indiana, she moved to Oregon as a young girl with her parents and two sisters. After living in a few places in Oregon and later Washington, she ended up living the last 28 years in Centralia. She had several jobs over the years including a radiology assistant, she worked in the restaurant business and she eventually retired from Washington State, DSHS. After retirement, Judy devoted much of her time to volunteer work at Possibilities Women's Center, helping young women in need. A devout Christian, her faith guided her in everything she did, and she was an active member of the Boistfort Community Church. In her personal life, Judy was a beacon of joy and festivity. She was passionate about square dancing and gardening, and a fierce competitor when it came to playing games like cribbage, fast track, and marbles with her friends, kids and grandkids. As an avid sports enthusiast, Judy never missed a chance to cheer for the Seahawks and Mariners, and she was the proudest supporter at her grandchildren's sporting events. Shrimping with friends on Hood Canal and spending quality time with her family were among her favorite pastimes. She truly loved people, she loved life, and she was loved in return. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Elsie Heritage, and her spouse, Anthony Hroncich. She is survived by her children Ken (Wendy) Burt, Kerry (Jeff) Sanford, Ed (Amanda) Singleton, and Brad Singleton; her stepchildren Tim (Angela) Hroncich, Christine Hroncich, and Monica (Steven) Collins; her sisters Billie McCargar and Carolyn Brown; her grandchildren Kathryn (Matt) Blyth, Anna (Ekow) Nottinson- Nyaaku, Ben (Sydney) Burt; Maggie, Easton, Carter, Bayli, Bethany and Taylor Singleton, her step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Blair and Bearett. A celebration of Judy's life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:30am at the Lac-A-Do Hall, 1721 46th Avenue Northeast, Olympia, Washington, 98506. As we remember and honor Judy, let us be inspired by the verse from Proverbs 31:31 - "Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Please join us to share your fondest memories of Judy and to celebrate a life remarkably lived. We invite you to leave your memories of Judy and upload photos to her memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a comforting treasure for all of us as we remember Judy's loving and joyful spirit.
