It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you, Joe McBee, beloved husband and father left us for his heavenly home, Sunday, March 6, 2016. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cora (Groves) McBee and his children and their spouses, Lowell and Diana (Richardson) McBee and Darrol and Angela (McBee) Prill, along with 13 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. Joe is also survived by his brother Jerry McBee and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe was born July 18, 1934 in Wenatchee, Wa. To Virgil and Thelma (Smith) McBee. Thema passed away soon after Joe's Birth, and Virgil Married Lorna Angela (Grover) McBee.
Joe began as a minister of the Church of Christ and started preaching in 1957, shortly after, he met and married Cora (Groves) McBee in July 1958. Joe worked as a computer programmer and software analyst for the State Department of Transportation from 1967 until his retirement, but continued to preach until just months prior to his passing.
Joe was an accomplished musician and played multiple instruments. Joe was blessed with a beautiful bass voice and a passion for singing. He loved to be able to share his music and frequently played his violin at local nursing homes. Joe was an amazing storyteller and writer, his stories touched the souls of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
During his life Joe has touched the hearts of many people from his ministry. To those that were blessed with his company, he will always be remembered for his welcoming smile and gentle nature.
A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 1 pm at the Twin City Church of Christ, 502 E Plum Street, Centralia, WA 98431
