Born on October 1, 1944, in Centralia, Washington, Joan was a loving, caring mother and spouse, whose laughter and radiant smile were a beacon of warmth and will be dearly missed. Joan was a homemaker by profession, but her true vocation was her family, whom she adored with a boundless heart. Joan and her husband Jim enjoyed many years of camping, fishing and musket loading, she had a love of nature and a zest for life. She enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones and playing with her dog Marley as well as watching her favorite cooking shows and trying new recipes. Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Smoker; her loving children James Jr (Claire) Bottoms , Stephanie (Tommy) Snider, and Kimberly Bottoms; her cherished grandchildren James, Stephen, Amanda, Robert, and Jennifer; and her precious great-granddaughters Cecilia and Madeline. She is also survived by her siblings Gerry, Robert, and Judy. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Cecilia and Everett Young, and her former spouse, James Bottoms Senior.
