Our community lost a beautiful life on June 19, 2025 when Jessica Kay Kotula joined our Creator. Jessica was born June 2, 1982 in Chehalis, WA to Jim and Janis Goode. From the moment Jessica entered the world she was a joy to be around. She grew up in the Centralia area attending Centralia Christian School and Northwest Christian High School in Olympia where she met her future husband, Martcil (Marty) Luke Kotula. Jessica moved to Arizona with her family where she graduated high school and chose to stay in Phoenix.
After a few years in Arizona, Jessica found she missed her family and moved back to Centralia in 2008. Marty and Jessica reconnected soon after her return and were married in 2013. Jessica's proudest accomplishment was becoming a mother and caring for her family. She adored hosting family gatherings and planning family vacations, which included Disney World and an Alaskan cruise last year. Jessica enjoyed a career at Washington State Employees Credit Union for 15 years where she formed lasting friendships with her beloved colleagues and WSECU members.
Jessica was a talented singer and loved all things Christmas and Disney. Those who knew her well, knew that she loved to sing along with Disney songs while driving and had purchased a Disney cruise for her family in 2026. Jessica will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and fun-loving lady who made friends quickly, putting everyone around her at ease.
She is pre-deceased by her paternal grandparents, James and Lisa Goode, her maternal grandparents, Clyde and Virginia Blair, and her uncle, Johnny Blair. Jessica is survived by her husband, Martcil Kotula; sons, Martcil Daniel Kotula and Samuel James Kotula; stepdaughter, Mia Kotula; parents, James (Jim) and Janis Goode; in-laws, Art and Dianne Bowman; siblings, Joel Blair, Chris Blair, Angie Goode-Taylor and David Goode; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held July 11, 2025 at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis at 2:00 PM and Open Bible Church in Centralia at 4:00 PM.
