Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Janis Ruth Jenkins, or "Jan," "Mom," "Momma," "Grams," "Grandma Jan" as she was affectionately known to those close to her. Born on February 12, 1943, in Oroville, CA, Janis graced this world with her vibrant spirit for 82 years until March 1, 2025. A resident of Centralia, Washington for the last four years, Janis was a beacon of resilience, love, and compassion. Janis was a woman of unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and His teachings, practicing her faith not just in words, but in deeds. She was a resilient warrior of life, managing a home daycare service so she could stay home with her children to having worked as a Customer Service Desk Supervisor at Comcast, Vancouver, WA until her retirement in 2006. Her work ethic and dedication to service were commendable. In her leisure, she found joy in gardening, crafts, and baking, often sharing her creations with loved ones. A member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority in her youunger days, Janis was known for her unwavering support and kindness. Not to mention her devotion to Little Leage Baseball as a team mother, score keeper and board member. Janis' life was a testament to her love for her family and friends, her most treasured possessions. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Her witty humor and caring nature made every moment with her memorable. Janis is survived by her sons Eric (Andrea) Jenkins and Perry (Kristin) Jenkins, grandchildren Chloe, Millie, Hunter, Nichelle (Jacob Hill), Cameron, and Remington, and great-grandchildren Finnegan and Wynston. She was preceded in death by her parents Perry and Thelma Moseley, her husband, Martin Jenkins, and her son Robert Jenkins. She was the embodiment of the verse from Corinthians 13:7, "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." Janis was a woman who bore the trials of life with grace, believed in the goodness of people, hoped for the best in every situation, and endured life's challenges with unwavering faith and resilience. As we mourn her passing, we celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and pictures of Janis on the memorial page.
