Harriet Miller passed away Sept. 28, 2012 in Centralia, Wash. Harriet was born Nov. 3, 1917 to James T. and Sally (Winstead) Lovin at a logging camp near Raymond, Wash., called Green Creek.
Harriet was raised and attended the school in Lebam. On May 9, 1936 she married William A. (Bill) Miller in Chehalis, Wash. Bill and Harriet were married 58 years when Bill passed away in 1994.
Harriet lived in Lebam until 1954 at which time they moved to PeEll. While living in PeEll for 33 years, she enjoyed raising her family, gardening and pinochle. In 1977, upon Bill's retirement, they moved to Centralia. At age 89, she decided to sell her home and move to Woodland Estate in Chehalis. In April, her health started to decline and she moved into Colonial Estate with the last month at Liberty Care facility. She was a hard worker and enjoyed her many friends. Other hobbies were making afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very fortunate to travel to many places and enjoyed clam digging with her friends with trips in their travel trailer. Her cooking and baking were exceptional.
Harriet is survived by her three children, Janet (Jerry) Whittig and grand daughter, Kathi (Dan) Opitz, great-grandson, Trevor and great-granddaughter, Taylor of Edgewood, Wash., granddaughter, Kelli Stein of Washington D.C., daughter, Diane Totten of Surprise, Ariz., and son, Terry (Kris) Miller of Centralia, Wash., grandson, Jody (Casey) Miller, great-grandson, Cohen Miller of Chehalis, granddaughter, Jenni (Donald) Ragsdale, great-grandson, Austin Hohner, great-granddaughter, Maddi Hohner, and Alli Rose Ragsdale of Tenino, Wash., and several nephews and neices and their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charlie, Hobert, Ralph, Fred, Leo, and Lester Lovin, and sister, Dolly McKinney and Lola Colville.
She certainly is going to be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held at Claquato Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Christin officiating.
