Forest Alvin Bower, 94, changed his address to Heaven Tuesday, May 7, 2013. He was born Aug. 30, 1918 in Evona, Mo., where he lived with his parents, three brothers and one sister, until he joined the Army Air Force at age 24 where he trained as a B-17 tail gunner. After active duty he entered the Missouri State Reserves where he was appointed Lieutenant of his local reserve unit. He joined the Air Force Civil Service which took him to Castle Air Force base in California, where he met and married his lovely bride of 54 years, Dorothy Lea Cox, on March 1, 1958. He became an ordained minister in 1962 and pastored for a number of years.
He also achieved a teaching degree in Oklahoma; he taught in California and eventually settled in Centralia where he retired as a teacher after 22 years.
While he adored and loved his wife and family beyond words and his grandchildren even more, his true passion was sharing with everyone he knew and met, how much Jesus loves them and died for them to give them eternal life. His hearts cry was for everyone to know Jesus is the only way to fill the emptiness, to know the joy, peace and fullness of living life to glorify Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
His celebration of life service will be at the Centralia Community Church of God on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Frosty had a huge heart for missions and mission work, so in lieu of flowers he requested any remembrances be donated to Frosty's Mission Fund to be distributed to his favorite missions. Remembrances may be sent to P.O. Box 656, Centralia, WA 98531.
