Obituary

Edna Lee Hamilton passes away in her home at 2:45 p.m. on June 9, 2012 at the age of 74, surrounded by her family. Edna was born in Clovis, N.M. on July 10, 1937 to Bertram and Sara Olive Kempf and had six siblings, Frank Kempf, Dean Kempf, Darlene Foister, Ernest "Frog" Kempf, LaDeva Dahlin, and Donna Zyzniewski. Edna moved to Washington when she was three. She graduated from Onalaska High School in 1955 and remained close to her fellow classmates throughout her life. She married one of those classmates, Dale Lee Hamilton in 1955 and added his parents, James and Florence Hamilton, sister, Arlene Hadaller, and twin brother, Dean Hamilton to her family. Edna took great pleasure in providing a clean and comfortable home for her family and in spoiling them with acts of service. She loved to take any opportunity to gather family and friends for meals and wonderful desserts. She also continually developed a loving relationship with her Heavenly Father. Surviving Edna is her husband, of 57 years and their two daughters' families, Darla and Gary Ryser's family include their children, Justin Ryser and Kristin Stalmaster and Jacob Ryser. Dayla and Brett Foster's family include their children, Jessica and Jared Collins, Alexis and Matthew Gage, Matthew Foster, and Seth and Bailey Foster. At the time of her death, she had five great-grandchildren, Aiden and Averi Collins, Lily and Dane Gage, and Aulley Foster. Edna's ashes will be interned in a private ceremony at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Chehalis, Wash., next to her father-in-law, whom she adored. The family welcomes all who loved Edna to join them as they celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. on June 30, 2012 at Mountain View Baptist Church, 1201 Belmont Avenue Centralia, WA 98531. The family would like to thank Edna's doctors, all the people who prayed for her, came to visit, or sent cards and food. They would also like to thank Assured Home Health Hospice for their compassion and assistance during a difficult yet meaningful time. Edna Hamilton was a witty, loving, and supportive Christian woman. She will forever be in our hearts.
