Dorothy M. Mordick, age 96, passed away at Sharon Care Center in Centralia, Washington on February 9th, 2020. She was born in her Aunt Mary's house in Corning, Iowa on January 13th, 1924. She spent most of her childhood in the very rural area of Lay, Colorado. Her father was a truck driver and her mother a Sunday school teacher. They moved to Los Angeles after she graduated High School where Dorothy attended business school. She lived in San Francisco for a while before moving to Chehalis. She met her husband Lavern, a former POW, during World War II. They were married in Chehalis after the war. They eventually settled in Centralia. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Mordick; and her daughter, Cindy Chenoweth. She is survived by her two sons, Paul Mordick (Susan), and Lynn Mordick (Diane); her 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
