Donald Edward Hershman passed away at home on July 1, 2026. He was surrounded by family and was loved by many. Donald lived a life full of adventure and excitement.

Donald was born Dec. 26, 1936, to James and Wava Hershman in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. During his childhood, his family moved around Idaho. Donald joined the United States Navy on June 30, 1955, and served until June 22, 1959. He remained an active member of the Navy Reserve until June 29, 1963.

After serving in the Navy, Donald settled in California, where he met Janet Little. The two were married on March 1, 1972, and soon moved to Centralia, Washington, where they raised their son, Bob Little. After Janet's passing in 2001, Donald met Vondra Bennett. The two were married on Aug. 17, 2007. Donald had already retired from the Centralia Steam Plant, and together they enjoyed a life of travel and family.

Donald is survived by his son, Bob (Carla) Little; his two stepsons, Dennis (Angie) Bennett and Kevin (Stancin Kahler); his grandchildren, Kyle, Brandon, Ryan and Katherine Little, Blake (Emily) Bennett, Natalie (Brayden) Mauermann, Seth (Morgan Humphrey) Bennett, Courtney (Bryce) Laufenberg, Karlie Bennett and Kellsie Kahler-Simpson; his grandsons, TJ and Steven Marker; his great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; his first wife, Janet Hershman; and his second wife, Vondra Hershman.

At Donald's request, there will be no celebration of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Donald's honor to the Lewis County Veterans Museum, 100 S.W. Veterans Way, Chehalis, WA 98532.
