Don Winton Collins Jr., age 75, passed away on November 17, 2025. Born on July 29, 1950, in Fullerton, California, Don lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family.
Raised in Illinois, Don graduated from Glenbrook High School in Northbrook before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. His commitment to hard work continued throughout his civilian life, culminating in a well-earned retirement from Home Depot.
Don was preceded in death by Maria Marciano and his brother, Scott Collins. He leaves behind his daughters, Dawn and Amy, as well as his sister, Debi Hetzel, and several nieces and nephews who cherished their "Uncle Donny."
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary's in Centralia at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4th. Don will be laid to rest with military honors at Tahoma National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. that same day. A get–together at the farm will follow the cemetery service for family and friends to gather and share memories.
Don's strength, humor, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
