IDavid William Johnson
(1964-2025)
It is with great sadness that the family of David William Johnson announces his passing at his home in South Bend, Washington on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the age of 60 years.
Dave was born in Tacoma, Washington on December 16, 1964. He was confirmed at Mt. Cross Lutheran Church, and graduated from Curtis High School in University Place, Washington in 1983. He completed a computer science program at Clover Park Vocational Technical Institute in Lakewood, and worked as an I.T. Systems Administrator for First American Title Company and finished his career with Master Millwork.
As a youth, Dave played soccer for the U.P. Sundowners and he was on the varsity swim team for Curtis High School. Dave loved repairing computers, video games, and other electronics. He obtained his HAM Radio Technician's License, and repaired radios for other members of his club. He recently renewed an interest in riding his mountain bike long distances on the Foot Hills National Recreation Trail in Puyallup. Dave also enjoyed spending time boating and waterskiing at American Lake and Puget Sound. The family also spent many summers camping and swimming at Herron Island and Black River, and floating the Yakima River with friends.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Joan (Ted), his son, Ross (Cloie), and his brothers, Matthew (Tara), and Jon (Deborah). Dave will also be fondly remembered by other extended family members and many friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father, David Ross Johnson.
A funeral service in memory of Dave will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 3:00 pm, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 10000 U.S. Highway 12, Rochester, WA, 98579, with Pastor Lauren Macan-Wightman officiating.
