Darlene
Lund
January 17, 1945 – May 23, 2026
City Farm Chehalis
1:30 - 2:30 pm (Pacific time)
Darlene (Brown) Lund, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of deep and abiding faith, passed away May 23, 2026 in Centralia, Washington. Born on January 17, 1945, in Olympia, Washington, to Joyce Wayne Brown and Ada Violet Jones, Darlene grew up in Littlerock, later graduating from Rochester High School.
Darlene married the love of her life, Dale Lund, in May of 1964. Together they built a life rooted in faith and hard work sharing a partnership that carried them through all of life's seasons, with no shortage of memorable moments. As a mother, she poured herself into raising her children, guiding them with patience, humor, and a steady hand. Family was the center of Darlene's world. She was the kind of mother and grandma who showed up and listened, for both the big moments and the everyday ones. Reliability and communication were two traits that she exemplified not only among family but also among friends; you always knew where you stood with her.
Darlene was never boring and had a great sense of humor. She had a warm laugh, a generous spirit, and a way of making even ordinary moments feel special. She made you feel welcome the moment you walked through her door and possessed a warmth that put others at ease.
Throughout her life, Darlene's Christian faith was not just something she believed but something she lived. Her relationship with the Lord guided her steps, shaped her character, and gave her a peace that she freely shared with those around her. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now home in His presence, reunited with those she loved who went before her.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jore Lund; great-granddaughter, Mayrah Lund; her brother, Larry Bode; and her sisters, Janice Spencer and Denise Box. She is survived by her loving husband, Dale; her sons, Jody (Joni) and Jami (Marla); her daughters, Michelle McCartney (Danny Vance) and Kriss Bethers (Rich); daughter-in-law, Amy Lund; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will take place at 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 7th at City Farm Chehalis (456 N. Market Blvd, Chehalis). Light refreshments and sweets will be provided. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold your loved ones a little closer today and tell them how much you love them, just as Darlene always did. Notes and cards may be sent to the family, and memorial gifts may be made to the J. L. Lund Memorial Scholarship Fund.
