Obituary

Dale passed away after a short stay at Curtis Hill Manor in Chehalis at the age of 90. He was born to Alton and Mary Jane Colvin and raised in Centralia, WA. He served in the Army from 1953-1956 where he was stationed in German. In 1957 he married Janet (Fagerness), they were married forty three years before her death. In 1960, he moved the family to Federal Way and he began his career as an Aircraft Mechanic with West Coast Airlines at Boeing Field. Over his career, he worked for various airlines as the industry evolved. He was stationed in other cities, including Denver, Atlanta and Memphis, ultimately returning to Seattle, where he retired while with Delta. Along the way he made lasting relationships, and frequently attended breakfasts with former coworkers. His first love was raising cattle and he worked with them throughout his life. His son, Merle, and sister Betty Jane Steele proceeded him in death. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Fred) Fleming, and son, Ken Colvin, grandchildren, Lauren Modine (Chris), Megan Rouse (Greg), Amy Rotz (Ryan), Melissa Dean (James), Aaron Karsteadt and eight great grandchildren, sister Delores Mohoric, and brother Keith Colvin. Remembrances may be sent to his favorite charities, Summit Assistance Dogs or St Jude Children's Hospital.
