Born in Seattle, July 28, 1944, Biff lived most of his life in Centralia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Bill Newton of Centralia and his biological father, C.H. Nontell. From June 1966 to September 1967, Biff served honorably with Alpha Company 5th Battalion (Mechanized) 60th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army with numerous commendations for his service, Biff embarked on a lifelong scholarly journey pursuing various interests that fueled his intellectual stimulation and his love for laughter. Devoted to his family, Biff is survived by his son, Philip Nontell of New York City, brother, Barney Newton (Traci) and sister, Tracey Paddock (Gordy), of Centralia and was known affectionately as "Uncle Biff" to his nephews, niece, and grand-niece.
As a man of many, many... many words, Biff left this life with family by his side to seek his next conversation on Tuesday night, April 2, 2013 after a short fight with leukemia.
Arrangements for a private memorial will be made at a later date.
