Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Leroy Curtis died August 25, 2017 peacefully surrounded by family in Chehalis, WA at the age of 77. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife Maureen Curtis, Children; Tina (Rob) Reid, Cory Curtis, Tony (Wendy) Curtis, Corrine (Joe) Subitch, and Kevin Curtis, Sisters; Iva (Mark) Randall and Renee Lanelle, 14 grandchildren and 17 and counting greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Curtis, Sister; Madelyn Curtis, his precious daughter Remona Stettler and grandson Zachary Subitch. Chuck was the first born on October 26, 1939 at home in Seattle, WA to the proud parents of George and Dorothy Curtis. He married his sweetheart June 26th, 1958 and moved to Las Vegas, NV soon after to start their family. After moving he started work for Kraft CO. delivering product to grocery stores and part time at a butcher shop. They welcomed their first three children Cory, Tony and Remona into their home. Soon after their third child was born they moved to Mount Lake Terrace, WA where he entered the carpenter's union and started as an apprentice in 1961 when they welcomed two more children, Corrine and Kevin, into their home. They moved a few different places throughout his career: Hawaii, Oklahoma, Des Moines, and Port Angeles. He continued working for the carpenter's union and retired from his successful career in 2003 as his sons and grandsons followed in his footsteps. He liked to travel and build memories with his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed being a snow bird for a few years and traveled with his wife to Arizona. He is remembered as a hardworking man. Some of his favorite nicknames were grumpy after the Snow-White movie and his wife's nickname for him was Eeyore but his endearing genuine smile shined through. He loved his family deeply and would do anything for them at any cost. He was dedicated in providing for his family. His family is blessed and able to glean much from his example. Chuck was an active member of Jackson Prairie Assembly of God. He was dedicated to the Lord and found it imperative to pass that on to his children and grandchildren. A funeral is scheduled for September 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Jackson Prairie Assembly of God with a private family graveside service after, followed by a reception back at the church. Pastor Bill Morris will be officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chuck's life.
