Obituary

Carol Johnson Tracy was born September 30, 1941 in Centralia, WA to Chuck and Frances Johnson. She spent her formative years at 704 W Cherry, enjoying time with the extended family who lived close, and visiting her grandparents at "the ranch" out Lincoln Creek Road. She graduated to heaven June 24, 2024. Carol married Rod Tracy, the "handsome milk man" of her childhood, in 1963, celebrating their 60th anniversary in December. They had a strong marriage and were devoted to one another, raising their girls, enjoying their grandchildren, and enjoying travel after retirement. The lasting legacy of love and devotion served as a model for those around them, especially their children and grandchildren. Family was Carol's greatest joy. She spent many years serving as room mother, volunteer library helper, and recess duty monitor at Magnolia Elementary School during her daughters' formative years. Once the family moved to Lake Oswego, she focused more on her business, and was for many years a successful manufacturer's representative. Always a seamstress, she picked up quilting after retirement and her return to the Seattle area, and spent many years making gorgeous quilts for family and friends and participating in the Evergreen Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Carol is survived by her husband Rod, and her daughters Jennifer Kassebaum (Jim), Chris Lukins (Frank), and Pam Tracy, and family friend Tony Betz (Shelly). She is also survived by her grandchildren Brent (Naomi), Hailey (Alec), Emily (Mike), Tori, Alec, Sam (Alyssa), Ted, Nick, Logan, and Ryan, and by the light of her life, great grandson Colson. She will be missed by all who loved her. A private family service will be held.
