Beverly Lou Smith, born on June 24, 1945, in Minneapolis, MN, was a beacon of compassion and warmth throughout her 80 years of life. She touched the lives of countless students during her tenure as a dedicated educator, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year. Beverly's thoughtful nature and loving spirit were a source of inspiration and comfort to all who knew her. Her commitment to her faith, her devotion to her family and friends, and her unwavering love for the community were testaments to her character. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Beverly embodied this sentiment, leaving a lasting impact on everyone blessed to cross her path. In her retirement, Beverly found immense joy in quilting, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and thoughtfulness. Each stitch was a testament to her patience and dedication, mirroring the care and devotion she showed in her professional life and personal relationships. Beverly was a resident of Chehalis, Washington, and although she lived there for only a brief period, she left a lasting impression on the community. Her presence was felt like a warm quilt on a cold night, comforting and familiar. As Maya Angelou beautifully expressed, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Beverly's kindness and compassion will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her. Beverly is survived by her brother, Douglas Wahl, and her sisters, Linda Mora and Sandra Clark. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Wahl, and her mother, Luella Wahl. A Celebration of Life was held for Beverly on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Napavine Assembly of God. The event was a beautiful tribute to a woman whose life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep sense of community. As we mourn the loss of Beverly, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she led, and the indelible mark she left on our hearts.
