Betty Gilmon passed away on August 26th, 2026 with her family surrounding her. She was born on February 21, 1930 in Okanogan to G.R. and Fay (Elvira) Ward.

Betty attended and graduated from Centralia High School.

She met and married Jim Gilmon in 1947. They moved to Adna, Washington where they would continue to live until 1966. They bought a house on Coal Creek Road in Chehalis and lived there until the passing of her husband, Jim in 1977.

She moved to Market Street in Chehalis in 1978 and lived there until 2022. At 92, she decided it would be a good choice to moved to Woodland Village and she resided there until her passing.

She worked at Downey's Auto for many years as office assistant before retiring in her 70's.

She loved to garden and spent many happy hours working in her yard. Her flowers were always beautiful (especially her roses) and she planted and harvested many vegetables and fruits from her back yard!

She attended the Apostolic Faith Church in Chehalis and in later years, she attended the Hope Church in Centralia.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Judy (Richard) Owen, Janis Jewell (Steve) Lyle and Jeri (Steve) Lux. Her pride and joy were two grandchildren, Andrew Lux and Traci Kinney and her great-grandchildren, Jay and Clara Kinney. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Gilmon and her sister, Doris Rogers.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:00 at Claquato Cemetery (Sunset Memorial Gardens).
