Barbara Ann Rieger age 62, passed away September 19, 2014 in Olympia, WA. with her loving family by her bedside.
If anyone is reading this, then you know the Head Coach, my Lord and Savior, has called me home to play on his diamond. A little about me, I was born on June 7, 1952, to William G. (Bill) and Helen Dillon Morley, in Spokane and passed away Sept. 19, 2014, in Olympia of complications from heart surgery. I was a 1971 graduate of Rogers High School in Spokane. I had a few different jobs throughout the years including being an in-home caregiver to my father-in-law and then, for an agency having two clients, who became more than just a client. I was also the "do all" girl for two small newspapers, the Tenino Independent and the Rochester Sun News, while working for DeVaul Publishing. Ken Rieger, who survives me I married, on March 23, 1978. Giving birth to my beautiful, blue-eyed team catcher, daughter Kelli, and then son Nate, the guy who if Dad couldn't do it, call Nate. My family has always been the greatest achievement in my life. In my childhood days I enjoyed going to our family cabin on Diamond Lake, in Newport, Washington, during the summers and winters. Other enjoyments included camping, sewing and craft activities. My biggest passion was my love for watching my kids and grandkids play sports, especially fastpitch and softball. Oh, how I loved my dogs. From the time I was a baby until now, they brought me many hours of joy, sorrow, laughter and slobbery kisses. Many cats were a big part of my life as well; it has always been hard to say no to a stray animal.
I am survived by husband Ken Rieger, Chehalis; daughter, Kelli Erb and son-in-law Andy Erb, Centralia; son, Nate Rieger and daughter-in-law, Becky Rieger, Centralia; stepdaughter, Erine Looney and son-in-law Jerry Looney, Wapato; grandchildren, Lexi and Casey Erb, Centralia and Jaylynn and Dawson Armstrong, Wapato; brother, Pat Morley (Janet), Spokane; sisters, Theresa Harmon (Chris), San Jose, California and Michele Gibson, Tampa, Florida; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and, of course, my much-loved doggies, Sadie and Heidi; and the brat cat, Noel. I was preceded in death by my parents, mom, Helen Morley in 1984 and dad, Bill Morley in 1995; and brothers, Rick Morley in 1995, and Gary Morley in 2007. I am hoping they will be at the gates of heaven to welcome me home to my Lord and Savior.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Oct. 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 1866 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis, WA 98532. Donations can be made in my name, to my favorite softball team, Team United Fastpitch. Send to 1520 View Ave., Centralia, WA 98531.
