Obituary

Barbara Ellen Mielitz, (Barb), was born to Lois Schoon and Edloyr Mathison on the 26th of March, 1941, in Ortonville, Minnesota. She led a life filled with creativity, dedication, generosity, and love, touching the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Barbara's life journey took her from her birthplace to the welcoming city of Centralia, Washington, where she resided for 59 years, creating a home filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods, the softness of knitted blankets, and the music of her piano. Barbara was a devoted homemaker, pouring her love and creativity into every aspect of her home and family life. Her hands were rarely still, always engaged in baking, quilting, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitch, gardening, or knitting. She also found great joy in the worlds she could explore through reading and the poems, stories and songs she crafted in writing. Her love for the piano was apparent in the soulful melodies that often filled the Mielitz household. Barbara's dedication was not confined to her hobbies; she was a beloved member of the Centralia Bible Chapel, where she worshipped for 55 years. A heartfelt believer in the Christian faith, she lived her life in accordance with the teaching of Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Barbara's generous heart was a testament to her deep love for her family, who always mattered most to her. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 66 years, Wesley Mielitz, and their beloved children, Kary (Wen) Mielitz, Vicki Mielitz, Suzanne (Tom) Mitchell, and Rebecca (David)Troglin. Her legacy will continue to live on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tawny Bernhardt (Kahlil, Beau, Juliette), Jeremy Mielitz, Jake Mielitz, Markie Mielitz, Brady Mielitz, Ryan Haney, Baylee (Chase) Flemetis (Emma), Braydann (Brandon) Mielitz (Juniper), Katie Mielitz, and Clyde Corregidor. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lois Schoon and Edloyr Mathison, and her cherished granddaughter, Olivia Ellen Mitchell.
