John William Hyyppa

John William Hyyppa, 94, of Rochester, Wash., passed away in the comfort of his home Dec. 5, 2019, in the early morning.

He served in the United States Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army, and worked for Weyerhaeuser for over 30 years before retirement.

John is survived by his sister, Barbara Stray (Hyyppa); and five children, Linda, Karen, Diana, John and Richard. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He now lays at rest with his wife of 55 years, Ruth, in perpetual peace.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 18, 2019, at Newell-Hoerling's Mortuary in Centralia. A memorial service will be held at Newell-Hoerling's Mortuary at 2 p.m., Dec. 28, 2019. All questions and flowers can be directed to the funeral home. John was a loving patriarch and will be missed by all.
