Freda Margaret (Shannon) Stegeman, passed away March 16, 2018, with family at her side. Freda was born October 10, 1935 in Weiser, ID, to Dallas and Dessie Shannon. They moved to Yakima, WA when Freda was 1. When Freda was 3, the family settled in Granger, WA.
She graduated from Granger HS in 1954. In 1958, she married Theodore Stegeman and together they raised six children.
Freda is remembered for her gentle, loving nature; her embroidery; and her cooking – Spanish rice, chocolate cake and peanut butter balls.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Dessie Shannon; and siblings William Shannon, Lester Shannon, Ilene Bouchey, Maxine Welsh, Roger Shannon and Leta Tobin.
She is survived by her husband, Theodore Stegeman; children Dorothy Peterson, Brenda Stegeman, Dolores Stegeman, Don Stegeman, Norma Phillips, and Anita Stegeman; grandchildren Jake Phillips, Wade Phillips, Jerramiah Peterson, and Elizabeth Peterson; and great granddaughter Quinn Phillips. She is also survived by siblings Richard Shannon, Neva Robillard, and Linda Lyons.

A Rosary and Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on April 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Committal at Claquato Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Forest Grange.
