Don Richard LaCombe, 72, of Olympia, passed away on December 17, 2019 in Seattle, WA.
He was born on April 11, 1947 to Donald and Inez LaCombe in Seattle, WA. He attended school at Highline High School in Seattle and graduated with honors from the University of Washington with a bachelors degree in journalism .
On March 21, 1981 he married Linda Gatch, Don and Linda made their home in Seattle, WA as well as Phoenix, AZ and Richmond, VA before returning to Seattle and then retiring to Olympia.
Don worked in Television Management for KOMO TV, KING TV, KCTS TV in Seattle, as well as KPNX -TV in Phoenix, AZ and WTVR-TV in Richmond, VA. He loved television, directing, producing and writing. He was the recipient of many Emmy Awards, a Gabriel and the coveted Peabody Award.. He enjoyed the role of coach and mentor and was so pleased at the successes of the people he worked with in TV. He, also, loved football, he was a Seahawks fan, but primarily a fan of the sport itself. Don really enjoyed traveling, he and Linda were able to explore every continent during their life together.
Don is survived by his loving spouse Linda of 38 years, a son, living in Madrid, Spain and a sister in Vancouver, WA. He was preceded in death by Father, Donald Alfred LaCombe, Mother, Inez Marie LaCombe.
