Catherine Anne Kerssen

Catherine Anne (Miller) Kerssen, age 62, of Centralia WA, passed away from complications of pneumonia at Centralia Providence Hospital on December 27, 2020.  Cathy was born May 31, 1958 in Anchorage AK to Morris and Geraldine (Cusic) Miller.

Cathy grew up in Napavine WA and graduated from Napavine High School in 1976.  While growing up, Cathy enjoyed family camping trips to the beach to dig clams and trips to southern California to visit her Grandma.  She had spent a few years in both Kent and PeEll WA before making her home in Centralia WA.  Cathy was a mother of, daughter, Shanna Kerssen, son, Zack Hasson, step-sons Cody Parkison and Christian Parkison.  Cathy, with her upbeat and happy personality, loved immersing herself in all kinds of books.  She was a very fast reader!  She also enjoyed sci-fi movies.

Cathy came from a blended family of ten children.  She is survived by her children, Shanna Kerssen, OH, Zack Hasson, Centralia WA, Cody Parkison, Kelso WA, Christian Parkison, Kelso WA, siblings, Carolyn (Jim) Lakey, Napavine WA, Larry Kerssen, Renton WA, Ed (Cheryl) Stanley, Shelton WA, Fred (Sandy) Stanley, Dewey AZ, Judy (Steve) Hartshorn, Vancouver WA, Marlys Ross, Kelso WA, Debbie Hadley, Olympia WA, Marcy (Tim) Pallett, Lahaina HI, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Anne Kerssen in 1978, step-mom, Evelyn Jean Kerssen in 2007, sister, Lisa (Kerssen) McHayle in 2012 and father, Henry William Kerssen in 2019.
